Job Description: Residential Solar Installer
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Residential Solar Installer to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on construction or electrical experience, a strong work ethic, and a passion for renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, install, and maintain residential solar PV systems according to design specifications, codes, and safety standards.
Safely load, transport, and unload solar equipment and materials.
Mount solar panels, inverters, and other system components on rooftops and/or ground structures.
Use hand and power tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment to complete installations.
Ensure proper wiring, grounding, and electrical connections in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) and local regulations.
Conduct quality control checks, system tests, and troubleshooting as required.
Work collaboratively with project managers, electricians, and other crew members to complete projects on schedule.
Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred).
Prior experience in solar installation, roofing, construction, or electrical work strongly desired.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.
Ability to work at heights, on rooftops, and in varying weather conditions.
Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and perform manual labor.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification is a plus.
Skills
Familiarity with power tools and construction equipment.
Understanding of safety protocols and OSHA compliance.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
