Project Manager – Powertrain, EV Battery & Transmission Automation
Take the lead on automation programs driving the future of mobility. As Project Manager, you’ll manage complex projects in powertrain, EV battery, and transmission assembly automation, owning them from concept through design, build, integration, and customer launch. This role demands technical leadership, financial accountability, and the ability to align diverse teams to deliver innovative automation systems on time and within budget.
What You’ll Do
Lead automation assembly projects across powertrain, EV battery, and transmission systems.
Manage all phases of delivery—planning, build, integration, debug, installation, and commissioning.
Identify and mitigate risks in specifications, proposals, and contracts while driving projects forward.
Direct cross-functional teams of engineers, electricians, and technicians to ensure seamless execution.
Oversee debug, run-off, installation, training, and customer startup at site.
Prepare reports, documentation, and change order requests (OCRs) to maintain clarity with both customers and internal teams.
Balance customer requirements with organizational goals to ensure successful outcomes.
What You Bring
5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience plus 5+ years of Project Management in industrial automation assembly systems.
Proven expertise in robotics, PLC systems, and large-scale automation programs.
Hands-on exposure to platforms such as Cartesian gantries, robotic systems, conveyors, and servo/pneumatic pick & place devices.
Experience with automation processes including CNC load/unload, fastening, marking, testing, and vision systems.
Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues and align diverse stakeholders.
Ability to manage scope, cost, and schedule under high accountability.
Willingness to commit to a demanding work schedule (50-hour weeks) and travel as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Industrial automation assembly experience (required).
Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong math and financial literacy for budgeting, cost control, and project analysis.
