Position Summary
Lead complex capital and non-capital projects across a wide range of public facilities. This is a high-impact role for a licensed Professional Engineer who thrives in both office and field environments and is passionate about public infrastructure, sustainability, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, review, and implementation of electrical systems, including generators, life safety systems, solar PV, and EV infrastructure.
- Manage large-scale engineering projects in occupied facilities, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert across departments, providing technical guidance and oversight.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and budget constraints.
- Sign and seal engineering documents as a licensed PE.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related area, or equivalent combination of education, training, and recent, relevant industry experience is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical engineering.
- Required:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Electrical Engineering (or eligible for reciprocity within 6 months)
- Preferred:
- Experience in commercial power distribution, energy management, and mission-critical systems
- Strong background in contract and project management
- Electrical system design, validation, and optimization
- Life safety systems and photovoltaic (solar) systems
- Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
Skills & Attributes
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working in both office and active construction site environments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders, access confined spaces, and lift/push up to 25 lbs
- Must be mobile and able to work in extreme temperatures and on active job sites
