We are seeking an experienced Volunteer Grant Writer to help secure funding that expands our impact and supports climate action initiatives around the world.
The Opportunity
The Volunteer Grant Writer will identify funding opportunities, develop compelling grant proposals, and help build relationships with foundations, corporations, and government funding programs that align with our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and international funders
- Prepare and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications
- Collaborate with program leaders to gather project information, budgets, outcomes, and impact metrics
- Maintain a grant calendar and track deadlines
- Assist with grant reporting and stewardship requirements
- Help develop a long-term funding strategy for organizational growth
Requirements
- Experience writing successful grant proposals for nonprofits, educational organizations, environmental organizations, or social-impact initiatives
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Familiarity with foundation and philanthropic funding landscapes
- Experience in climate, sustainability, environmental, energy, conservation, or related sectors is a plus
- Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely with an international team
Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 5–10 hours per week
