Warehouse Material Handler
Job Description
Position Summary: The primary responsibility is work related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. Works with independence in carrying out duties with limited supervision. , Keeps internal customer supplied in materials to make commitments on outbound shipments in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain warehouse inventory.
Essential Skills and Experience:
· 10 plus years of experience in warehouse operations including receiving, shipping, and packaging of inventory is a plus.
· Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software (word processing, spreadsheet and presentation package)
· High school diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree desirable
· Able to multi task and meet daily deadlines
· Qualified applicant must have good English verbal and written communication skills
· Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. / Forklift experience is a must
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Moving controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas.
• Organizing and securing stored pallets and all goods.
• Loading or unloading materials manually, off or on to pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devises.
• Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment
• Reporting to Shipping Manager regarding any damage to racks, faulty equipment, or any other safety hazards.
• Consulting, working, and coordinating with supervisors, managers, and employees regarding unloading and loading operations.
• Completing forklift operator training provided.
• Perform general clean-up tasks to keep work area clean and free of excess debris.
• Maintain personal work area in accord to ZENNER USA expectations.
• Performance Cycle counts as need
Skills and Specifications
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required
· High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
· Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
· Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
· Maintain a clean & safe environment
· May be required to use RF scanner gun
· Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required
· Forklift certification per OSHA standards
· Able to follow instructions as directed by the supervisor.
· Ability to stand for a long time.
· Must have the sense of responsibility to accomplish tasks without supervision.
· Physical ability to periodically lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
· Should have strong hand-eye coordination.
