The Role

This is a senior, cross-functional leadership role at the heart of Geely Auto Canada's market strategy. You will own the product vision, roadmap, and localization strategy for Canada — working at the intersection of global engineering, design, marketing, and commercial teams to shape a product portfolio that wins in one of the world's most competitive and rapidly evolving automotive markets.


You will report directly to senior leadership and represent Canada's product interests globally.


What You'll Own

? Market & Consumer Intelligence

  • Lead ongoing, rigorous analysis of the Canadian automotive market — tracking technology trends, segment shifts, competitive product moves, and the evolving regulatory environment.
  • Build Geely Auto Canada's market intelligence capability into a genuine strategic asset that informs product, pricing, and positioning decisions at every level.


? Customer Insight & Discovery

  • Go deep on the Canadian consumer — identifying unmet needs, purchase motivators, pain points, and regional behavioral nuances that global teams often miss.
  • Design and execute consumer research programs (qualitative and quantitative) that generate validated, actionable insight — not just data.
  • Be the internal champion who ensures the voice of the Canadian driver is heard, respected, and acted upon across global product planning cycles.


? Strategic Product Planning

  • Develop and own a compelling product vision and multi-year roadmap for the Canadian market, fully aligned with Geely Auto's mid-to-long-term global strategy.
  • Identify which models, configurations, and technologies from Geely Auto's global portfolio are right for Canada — and make the case internally with rigour and clarity.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on EV adoption trends, hybrid market dynamics, and the competitive moves of established players (Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Tesla, GM) to keep Geely Auto's Canadian roadmap sharp and differentiated.


?? Product Localization

  • Lead the end-to-end localization of Geely Auto's product portfolio for Canada — covering styling adaptations, feature configurations, trim structures, safety and regulatory compliance (Transport Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada), and market-specific pricing architecture.
  • Work across global engineering, design, and regulatory teams to translate Canadian consumer requirements into product specifications that are feasible, compelling, and commercially viable.
  • Own the product brief for every Canadian launch — from specification freeze through to on-sale.


? Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with and influence Geely Auto's global engineering, design, R&D, and commercial teams on behalf of the Canadian market.
  • Act as a trusted bridge between global product development cycles and the on-the-ground realities of the Canadian market — navigating competing priorities with professionalism and persuasion.
  • Partner closely with the Canadian marketing and sales leadership to ensure product strategy, commercial strategy, and brand positioning are tightly aligned.


? Go-to-Market Support

  • Work hand-in-hand with the Canadian marketing and sales teams to develop high-impact launch plans, sales enablement tools, and training materials.
  • Ensure every vehicle launch in Canada is underpinned by a product story that is clear, credible, and genuinely compelling for Canadian buyers and dealer teams alike.


What You Bring

  • 5+ years of product management or product planning experience in the automotive or broader mobility sector — you understand how vehicles are planned, developed, and brought to market at an OEM level.
  • A proven track record in market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery — you know how to turn consumer insight into product strategy.
  • Deep, genuine knowledge of the Canadian automotive market, including:
  • Consumer preferences, regional buying behaviors, and lifestyle-driven feature priorities
  • Regulatory and compliance requirements (Transport Canada, FMVSS/CMVSS standards, EV incentive structures)
  • Competitive dynamics and the strategic positioning of major OEMs operating in Canada
  • Strong familiarity with product planning cycles, platform strategies, and feature set development as practiced by leading global automotive OEMs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills — you can make a complex product argument compelling to a room of engineers, a table of executives, or a team of sales trainers.
  • A collaborative, influence-driven leadership style — you get things done through people, not just authority.
  • Full professional fluency in English is required; proficiency in French and Chinese is a meaningful asset for the Canadian market.
  • Comfortable with international travel to engage with global product and engineering teams.
