Company Description

Zedekma is a specialized advisory practice focused on industrial decarbonization, grid-scale energy storage (BESS) architecture, and energy transition strategy. We partner with heavy industry operators, mining conglomerates, and clean energy developers to turn capital-intensive transition mandates into bankable, high-yield power assets. Zedekma enables clients to navigate the techno-commercial trade-offs between regulatory policy, power economics, and physical grid constraints.

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will lead institutional growth, client origination, and deal shaping across industrial decarbonization, energy storage, and clean power transition mandates. Based in Ranchi with a hybrid working model, this role is responsible for driving enterprise customer acquisition, mapping key accounts across industrial corridors, and securing high-value advisory engagements. Acting as a trusted commercial advisor, the individual will translate complex techno-commercial energy concepts into outcome-driven value propositions, lead proposal negotiations, and manage long-cycle B2B pursuits from opportunity identification to contract execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Origination & Account Mapping: Identify, map, and engage C-suite and plant leadership (Plant Heads, CXOs, VP Operations, Chief Sustainability Officers) across mining companies, heavy manufacturing units, and renewable energy developers.
  • End-to-End Pursuit Lifecycle: Lead the full deal lifecycle—from account discovery, opportunity qualification, and NDA execution to proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations.
  • Deal Shaping & Value Translation: Interface between industrial clients and internal technical specialists to shape tailored commercial proposals and outcome-focused transformation narratives for clean energy and storage solutions.
  • Pursuit Excellence & Sector Assets: Build and maintain high-impact pitch decks, repeatable proposal frameworks, detailed business cases, and DPR response strategies to streamline BD cycles and improve win rates.
  • Commercial & Pipeline Discipline: Maintain structured pipeline tracking, manage deal economics and margins, and provide actionable market feedback to refine go-to-market strategies.
  • Market & Regulatory Intelligence: Track power market dynamics, state grid tariffs, group captive regulations, and emerging carbon policy frameworks to identify new origination opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 5–6 years of demonstrated experience in B2B sales, business development, or commercial origination strictly within the Renewable Energy (C&I Solar, BESS, Hybrid Solutions) or Industrial Power Infrastructure sectors.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any field (MBA / Post-Graduation preferred).
  • Commercial & Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of deal economics, energy tariff structures, project viability, and the ability to articulate clear business cases to senior executives.
  • Domain Knowledge: Solid commercial and functional understanding of renewable energy systems, open-access power, industrial captive power, battery storage (BESS), and power tariff structures.
  • Proven Deal Record: Track record of independently originating, structuring, and closing high-value commercial contracts with industrial, mining, or institutional clean energy clients.
  • Executive Presence: Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to simplify complex energy transition topics and build credibility with C-suite stakeholders.
  • Work Arrangement & Mobility: Comfortable with readiness to undertake on-ground site visits and client travel across key industrial belts as required.
