Role Description

JOB ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Climate Action

· Develop the Your Meaningful Climate Action project locally to include a series of

talks, workshops, and events in Kirkcaldy YMCA’s youth projects.

· Work with our young people to develop the programme.

· Deliver the project to youth clubs and young people in Kirkcaldy.

· Work with small groups of young people to plan and deliver on a climate action

project/pledge.

· Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and our YMCA partners.

· Be an ambassador for living a climate-friendly life and be passionate about passing

on this message.

• · Accredit the work young people do by supporting them to complete Youth Achievement Awards (or Hi5/Dynamic Youth Awards). · Coordinate with the YMCA: Your Meaningful Climate Action national project manager to feedback on and support ongoing work. · The Climate Action Youth Worker will be required to attend regular on-going training to meet the needs of the post. · Monitor and evaluate the programme and provide regular updates both verbal and written as required. General · Meet with line manager regularly to discuss and agree aspects regarding the development of the project. · Collaborate and work in partnership with Kirkcaldy YMCA youth work team. · Provide regular updates to be posted on social media. · Using youth work methods, work with and support the participants throughout the project.
