Company Description

Yeshil is a sustainability research studio producing clear, decision-ready ESG and climate policy insights for organisations that need depth without complexity. Rather than long, compliance-heavy reports, Yeshil focuses on concise research packs, briefing notes, and structured deliverables that help teams understand regulatory change, transition risks, and sustainability expectations quickly and effectively.

Yeshil operates across ESG regulation, climate and industrial policy, and sustainability-related market dynamics. Our work supports consultancies, agencies, and organisations that require high-quality research input but do not maintain large in-house analyst teams.

As a newly founded and growing studio, Yeshil is intentionally small, flexible, and research-driven. This creates space for experimentation, skill development, and meaningful contribution. Interns are treated as contributors to real outputs, not observers, and gain hands-on experience in how sustainability research is structured, refined, and delivered in practice.

Role Description

We are seeking a part-time, fully remote Research Intern to support Yeshil’s sustainability research and analytical deliverables. The role involves structured desk research on ESG regulations, climate and industrial policy, and sustainability standards, and translating findings into concise, well-written outputs.

You will assist with the preparation of research packs, briefing notes, and internal knowledge materials, working closely with the founding team. This role is particularly suited to candidates who enjoy analytical thinking, careful writing, and turning complex regulatory or policy material into clear insights for non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct desk research on ESG regulations, climate policy, and sustainability standards
  • Track and summarise regulatory and policy developments
  • Synthesise complex information into concise, structured written outputs
  • Support the preparation of research packs, briefing notes, and background analyses
  • Assist with internal knowledge building and research quality control

Qualifications

  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Clear and structured writing ability, with strong attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of ESG, sustainability, climate policy, or sustainable business practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with research databases or digital tools is a plus
  • Strong interest in sustainability research, policy analysis, or ESG-related work
  • Current enrolment in, or recent graduation from, a relevant programme (e.g. Environmental Studies, International Relations, Public Policy, Economics, Business) is preferred

Internship Structure & Compensation

This is a part-time, voluntary internship designed to provide meaningful research experience and long-term professional value.

  • The internship is unpaid
  • After four months, successful interns will be provided with a formal reference
  • Interns who demonstrate strong performance may be invited to contribute to live research or client-facing projects
  • Project-based contributions may be supported through bursaries, scaled according to the scope and size of the project
  • As Yeshil grows, there is potential for expanded responsibilities and continued collaboration

This role is ideal for candidates seeking practical sustainability research experience within a growing, early-stage research studio, where learning, responsibility, and contribution develop together.
