Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Assembly
Who are we?
XNRGY Climate Systems is a leading North American innovator in sustainable thermal management and liquid/air cooling solutions. We design and manufacture high-performance, energy-efficient systems—including custom AHUs, XNChillers, XNFans, CRAH/CRAC units, heat exchangers, coils, and integrated controls—for mission-critical environments such as hyperscale data centers, healthcare facilities, clean rooms, life sciences, and industrial applications. Our technologies deliver substantial reductions in energy consumption, water use, and carbon emissions, supporting Net Zero, LEED, and AI-driven efficiency goals.
Our state-of-the-art U.S. headquarters and manufacturing operations in Mesa, Arizona (Mesa 1 fully operational since 2025, with Mesa 2 expansions enhancing production of next-generation air-cooled chillers and more) feature Industry 4.0 digital tracking, vertical integration, and advanced processes to meet surging demand in sustainable climate solutions.
As part of our U.S. expansion, XNRGY is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Assembly to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team on-site in Mesa, Arizona. In this role, you will drive Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA) initiatives, and deploy advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance efficiency, scalability, quality, and cost-effectiveness in our high-volume, custom manufacturing environment.
An overview of your responsibilities!
- Manage the development and implementation of assembly processes for custom HVAC/air handling units, thermal systems, and related assemblies.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) workshops to optimize designs for efficient, scalable, cost-effective, and high-quality assembly.
- Define and specify assembly processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, and automation solutions for new product introductions (NPI).
- Design jigs, fixtures, and basic lifting/positioning aids to support safe, efficient, and repeatable assembly.
- Design and optimize workstations, layouts, and material flow to improve safety, ergonomics, and productivity.
- Support quality initiatives by contributing to PFMEAs, control plans, assembly instructions, and process capability studies.
- Ensure seamless project launches and handovers to production teams, including training and ramp-up support.
- Promote continuous improvement, lean principles, and a culture of collaboration, innovation, and safety.
What you'll need, among other things!
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, with significant focus on assembly processes in complex, custom, or high-precision environments (e.g., HVAC, automotive, aerospace, or industrial equipment).
- Proven success in Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA) and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, including successful launches of assembled products.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in data analysis, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to coordinate across engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and other departments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and adapt to fast-paced, changing priorities in a growing organization.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other design/simulation tools; familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 concepts is a plus.
Do you have other qualifications? Tell us what makes you unique—such as leading NPI builds in fast-growth environments or continuous improvement initiatives — that would be a great addition to our team.
