We are excited to announce the opening of our new technology headquarters in Mesa, Arizona in 2025. This expansion reflects our commitment to growth and innovation in the climate solutions industry. As part of this expansion in the US, XNRGY is seeking a Plant Controller to join its team.
Reporting to the finance leadership team, this role will support financial operations and partner closely with plant leadership to drive operational performance, cost management, and financial reporting for the Mesa manufacturing facility. This highly visible role will work cross-functionally with operations and executive leadership to support the company’s rapid growth and value-creation initiatives in the data center and climate solutions industry.
An overview of your responsibilities:
- Oversee plant-level accounting activities, including monitoring production data inputs, work order closures, and financial transactions within the ERP system. Identify and address discrepancies while ensuring compliance with internal controls and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Manage cost accounting processes, including bill of materials (BOM) oversight, standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting. Ensure product costing accurately reflects production operations and conduct regular audits to validate accuracy.
- Support monthly financial close activities, including variance analysis against forecasts and prior periods. Develop and maintain cost and operational reports that provide actionable insights to improve plant performance.
- Serve as a key financial partner to plant leadership and operations teams, providing analysis and guidance on labor costs, material usage, manufacturing overhead, distribution costs, and inventory levels.
- Develop and maintain performance scorecards and key performance indicators to track operational and financial performance. Monitor the progress of cost-saving initiatives and identify areas for operational improvement.
- Support CapEx planning and investment analysis, providing financial modeling and recommendations to support capacity expansion and operational improvements.
- Ensure the integrity of physical inventory and reported results, investigate discrepancies between physical and book inventory, and monitor excess or obsolete inventory.
- Help establish and improve financial processes at the plant level, including forecasting, costing systems, budgeting processes, and reporting tools to enhance financial visibility and operational decision-making.
- Participate in daily production meetings and collaborate closely with operations leadership to identify cost drivers, production challenges, and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
What you'll need, among other things!
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation required.
- 5–10 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting financial operations in a high-growth or large-scale organization is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting practices, including standard costing, variance analysis, inventory accounting, and financial close processes.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable business insights.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
