1 MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT

2 MAJOR FUNCTIONS

The Senior Specialist, Compensation is an individual contributor role responsible for the operational execution and continuous improvement of compensation processes across WWF International.

Acting as the technical and analytical focal point for Compensation, the role supports the Head, Compensation & Benefits to translate compensation strategy into robust, scalable, and well-governed compensation practices. The role requires analytical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to prioritise and deliver high‑quality outputs in a complex, global environment with competing demands and stakeholders.


3 Major Duties and Responsibilities

Annual Salary Budgeting and Review

  • Coordinate and execute the annual salary budgeting and salary review processes across WWF International in line with approved compensation policy, governance, and timelines.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of salary review data, scenarios, and outcomes; prepare draft recommendations and insights for the Head, Compensation & Benefits.
  • Develop and maintain salary review tools, templates, and guidance to improve consistency, efficiency, and quality of the organisation’s compensation processes.
  • Support Country Office P&C teams throughout the salary review cycle, addressing complex cases and policy interpretation questions.

Salary Benchmarking, Surveys and Offers

  • Participate in and manage inputs into relevant salary and labour market surveys across all WWF locations.
  • Analyse published and bespoke market data and translate insights into practical recommendations.
  • Assess the relevance and quality of existing survey sources and recommend improvements or alternative data sources.
  • Prepare salary offers for new hires, promotions, and internal moves in accordance with policy

Job Evaluation and Grading

  • Act as the technical focal point for the organisation’s job evaluation methodology and system.
  • Conduct job evaluations and review grading decisions in accordance with established frameworks and governance.
  • Provide hands‑on support and guidance to P&C colleagues to strengthen understanding and correct application of job evaluation principles.
  • Partner with the Head, Compensation & Benefits to maintain integrity and consistency of grading standards globally.

Tools, Analytics and Process Improvement

  • Design, build, and maintain compensation tools, templates, dashboards, and analytical models to support decision‑making.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, or standardise compensation‑related processes.
  • Translate complex compensation data into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
  • Ensure high standards of data accuracy, documentation, and audit readiness.

Advisory, Projects and Governance

  • Act as a subject matter expert for compensation‑related queries across WWF International.
  • Support the Head, Compensation & Benefits in drafting, reviewing, and updating compensation policies and guidelines.
  • Contribute to compensation‑related projects and initiatives, including global framework reviews and system enhancements.
  • Build compensation capability within Country Office P&C teams through practical guidance, materials, and knowledge-sharing.


4 PROFILE

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in compensation or total rewards, preferably in an international or matrixed organisation.
  • Professional certification in HR or Compensation (e.g. GRP, CCP, equivalent) is an advantage.


Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into practical recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and comfort with HRIS and compensation systems.
  • Hands-on experience with job evaluation methodologies, particularly Mercer IPE, Korn Ferry Hay, or Willis Towers Watson.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands in a fast‑paced, global environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise and challenge constructively.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgement, and strong sense of professional integrity.
  • Ability to design practical tools, templates, and process solutions for diverse user groups.
