Overview
The Manager/Senior Manager, Strategic Communications leads the development and execution of integrated communications strategies that strengthen WWF-Singapore's reputation, influence and impact across Singapore and the region.
The role is responsible for shaping compelling narratives, advancing thought leadership, supporting flagship initiatives and strengthening engagement with key stakeholders across government, corporate and public audiences. As a trusted communications advisor to leadership and internal teams, the incumbent ensures communications are strategic, consistent and aligned with WWF's mission, organisational priorities and global positioning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Communications & External Positioning
- Develop and implement integrated communications strategies aligned to WWF-Singapore's organisational priorities
- Translate complex environmental and sustainability topics into clear, credible narratives for diverse audiences
- Lead media engagement and produce high-quality external materials — releases, op-eds, key messages, and leadership profiles
- Identify opportunities to position WWF-Singapore and its leaders as trusted voices on climate, nature, and sustainable finance
2. Stakeholder Counsel & Issues Management
- Provide strategic communications counsel for high-level government, corporate, and multi-stakeholder engagements and announcements
- Advise proactively on reputational risks and sensitive issues; lead crisis communications response when required
- Ensure all communications uphold WWF values, brand integrity, and organisational credibility
3. Cross-functional Integration & Impact Measurement
- Collaborate across the WWF network and internal teams (e.g. Conservation, Carbon Finance, Partnerships, and Content & Engagement) to align communications with programme priorities.
- Manage communications-related procurement and vendor relationships, including agencies and service providers, ensuring effective delivery, budget oversight and compliance with organisational policies and processes.
- Track and evaluate communications performance across reach, engagement, and contribution to organisational impact.
- Support reporting of communications outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with B2B social media is a value-add, collaborating with the Content & Engagement function.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum 6–10 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, public affairs, media relations, or corporate communications, ideally within sustainability, climate, conservation or related sectors.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies across earned, owned and digital channels, including media engagement, stakeholder communications, social media and content development. Familiarity with visual content creation is advantageous.
- Excellent writing and editorial skills, with experience producing high-quality communications materials such as media releases, op-eds, reports, speeches and leadership communications.
- Experience working with government agencies, corporates, industry bodies or multi-stakeholder partnerships is advantageous.
