Position title: Finance Manager

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Summary of the role:


Provide leadership and oversight across finance operations, accounting, controls, and governance, ensuring efficient operational support, control and compliance. Deliver accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and strong stewardship of resources. Strengthen organisational capabilities through team development and establish effective procurement practices to support WWF Singapore’s operational and programmatic needs.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Finance Operations, Accounting & Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and financial close processes.
  • Provide strong leadership to the finance team including the offshore team members, setting direction, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members to build a high-performing and future-ready finance function.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and automation of finance and system processes.
  • Ensure effective resource planning and workload management within the finance team.


2. Financial Reporting, Compliance & Control

  • Oversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and WWF
  • policies.
  • Strengthen financial controls framework, ensuring robust checks, accountability, and risk
  • mitigation.
  • Lead external audits, statutory reporting, and tax compliance processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of regulatory and technical accounting developments.


3. Governance & Risk Management

  • Lead and enhance governance, internal controls, and risk management practices across WWF Singapore.
  • Oversee internal audit processes and ensure timely implementation of recommendations.
  • Partner with the COO and leadership team on governance matters and organisational risk oversight.
  • Promote a strong culture of accountability, transparency, and compliance across the organisation.


4. Procurement & Process Development

  • Establish and develop the procurement function, including policies, processes, and controls.
  • Drive implementation of procure-to-pay (P2P) best practices and systems.
  • Ensure procurement activities are compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with organisational goals.
  • Provide guidance to departments on procurement policies and vendor management.


5. Business Partnering & Strategic Support

  • Support organisational budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles.
  • Provide insights and analysis to support fundraising, programme delivery, and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to improve financial literacy and accountability.
  • Contribute to digital transformation initiatives, including ERP and finance system enhancements.


6. Treasury, Tax & Financial Management

  • Oversee cash flow management, treasury operations, and funding allocations.
  • Manage tax compliance and related financial obligations.
  • Ensure optimal utilisation of financial resources.


Qualifications & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a non-profit or mission-driven organisation
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, governance, and internal control frameworks
  • Experience in developing finance processes and hands-on with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an advantage
  • Prior experience in leading teams and driving organisational capability building
