WWF‑Australia is seeking a Koala Friendly Carbon Coordinator to help deliver the Koala Friendly Carbon Initiative (KFCI)—a flagship program restoring habitat for koalas and other wildlife while supporting landholders and generating high‑integrity carbon outcomes. About the Role

Coordinate and deliver landscape restoration projects in an integrated manner to achieve regenerative outcomes for Country, climate and communities, contributing to WWF‑Australia’s strategic priorities through effective project management, strong stakeholder partnerships, high standards of compliance and reporting, effective use of data and systems, and adaptive, solution‑focused approaches to scaling the Koala Friendly Carbon Initiative.


Key Accountabilities (Refer to Position Description for full list of Key Accountabilities)

  • Contribute to the coordination and delivery of components of the Low Carbon Landscapes project and the Koala Friendly Carbon Initiative to support landscape‑scale restoration outcomes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and contribute to measurable climate and nature‑positive outcomes (e.g. hectares restored, emissions abated, biodiversity indicators improved).
  • Build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders and project partners that are central to the success of the Koala Friendly Carbon Initiative. Maintain open and clear communication to ensure ongoing engagement with project funding partners, landholders and contractors to ensure understanding of, and compliance with, project plans where required.
  • Undertake ecological monitoring and environmental accounting, including koala monitoring and assist with the development of environmental accounts aligned with Accounting for Nature frameworks, to quantify conservation impact and inform adaptive management and reporting.


Skills, Knowledge and Experience (Refer to Position Description for full list of Selection Criteria)

  • Demonstrated experience in landscape restoration, ecological rehabilitation, regenerative agriculture or natural resource management, delivering outcomes to a high standard within complex environmental and stakeholder contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contractors to coordinate delivery of revegetation projects in an integrated and well‑planned manner, to a high standard, ensuring quality, safety and compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including landholders and community partners, building constructive relationships through clear communication and inclusive engagement.
