WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Civil/Site Development Engineer to join our Power & Energy team in Houston, TX . The following locations will be considered: OverlandPark, KS , Oradell, NJ , MountLaurel, NJ , Atlanta, GA , Seattle, WA , Boise, ID and Hailey, ID. Your Impact
- Develop site layout, grading, storm water management, vehicular circulation, underground utilities, retaining walls, and wastewater management.
- Earthwork and Erosion Control Calculations to avoid unnecessary environmental impact and cost.
- Exposure and experience in a wide range of power plant technologies including biomass, municipal waste, geothermal, hydrogen, fossil fuel, carbon capture, battery energy storage, hydro, and solar.
- Surveying, Geotechnical, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and discipline coordination.
- Maintaining good working relationships with internal groups that support projects.
- Maintaining good working relationships with clients, material suppliers, contractors, and any others that affect the quality, schedule and cost of projects.
- Hydrology and Hydraulic Calculations and Studies to design stormwater management systems including detention and infiltration systems to prevent environmental impacts of flooding.
- Supervise and mentor less experienced Engineers and CAD Designers.
- Participate and lead business development activities for company and Civil Discipline.
- Interface with State and Local permitting agencies and construction entities for US and international projects.
- Perform detailed engineering reviews of the work submitted by others.
- Coordinate regularly with the Project Engineer/Manager to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are met.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decisionmaking regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering) degree from an ABET accredited university.
- 7+ years of relevant posteducation experience as a civil engineer.
- The ideal candidate will have experience working in consulting firms.
- Professional Engineer License.
- Experience in site design for utilities, industrial facilities, municipal infrastructure, storm drainage and stormwater management design, site grading, roadway and utility design, sanitary sewer design and analysis, construction specification development and development of construction bid packages.
- Proficient with various engineering design tools and software. Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil3D and stormwater design software HydroCAD. Effective managing Civil3D CADD designers.
- Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.
- Effective selfleadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Efficient communications and ability to work with team members not located in the same office through MS Teams, email, and/or telephone calls.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPs health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to projectspecific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on projectspecific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Power plant and substation site design experience.
- Proficient with various engineering design tools and software. Specifically, Autodesk Civil3D and stormwater design software like HydroCAD.
- Surveying and Retaining wall design experience.
- Managerial and leadership skills a plus, desire to become an Area Lead.

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $98,300 - $175,230
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicants sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
