The position can be based in various WSP offices across the U.S., including Portland, OR; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; New York, NY; Greensboro, NC; Bethlehem, PA; San Francisco, CA; San Diego, CA; Arlington, VA; Boulder, CO, with flexible arrangements for exceptional candidates. The role involves working with our Climate, Resilience, and Sustainability Team on projects that meet client objectives and address their challenges. Job Responsibilities The successful candidate will lead client-facing teams in designing, managing, and reporting on product and organizational sustainability programs within the electronics and technology sectors, with a focus on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA). Responsibilities include: Leading electronics LCA projects from inception to completion, including data collection, quality assurance, and dataset development. Modeling using platforms such as LCA For Experts (GaBi), SimaPro, GREET, and openLCA. Developing LCAs to assess impacts like GHG emissions, energy and water use, waste, and resource scarcity. Producing reports (screening, ISO-conformant, comparative, non-comparative) and presentations based on LCA results. Creating Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), eco passports/profiles, and background reports according to relevant standards. Identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impacts across product life cycles. Producing sustainability reports and disclosures. Maintaining data management systems and business intelligence tools. Supporting business development efforts with existing and prospective clients. Adhering to ethical standards and WSP's policies. Performing additional duties as needed. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, energy, sustainability, or environmental discipline. At least 6 years of experience in product sustainability and LCA consulting, specifically in electronics and technology sectors. Experience preparing ISO 14040 and 14044 conformant LCA reports. Knowledge of product design, manufacturing, supply chains, circular economy, and waste reduction. Strong interpersonal, communication, and software skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Power BI). Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate remotely. Commitment to workplace safety and WSP's policies. Willingness to travel as required. Preferred: Master's degree in relevant fields. Experience with LCA software (GaBi, SimaPro, openLCA, GREET). Familiarity with ISO standards (14025, 14046, 14064, 14067). Experience in sectors like food, agriculture, textiles, construction. Knowledge of EPDs, PEF, circularity standards, water footprinting, and related methodologies. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $72,800 - $145,530, with variations based on location and experience.
