WRI India is looking for an intern to join our Climate, Economics, and Finance (CEF) team in Chennai. This individual will primarily support in the planning, coordination, and delivery of capacity building programmes, along with conducting secondary research, data collection, and stakeholder engagement activities.

WRI India is looking for an intern to join our Climate, Economics, and Finance (CEF) team in Chennai. This individual will primarily support in the planning, coordination, and delivery of capacity building programmes, along with conducting secondary research, data collection, and stakeholder engagement activities.
What You Will Do
Qualifications and experience
- Support the team in planning and delivery of capacity building programmes, including workshops, trainings, webinars, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Coordinate with trainers, partner units, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth programme implementation.
- Manage event logistics, including preparation of materials, participant coordination, and post-programme follow-ups.
- Design and develop communication materials such as posters, invites, presentations, and basic outreach content for programmes and trainings.
- Maintain and regularly update training trackers, attendance records, and programme documentation.
- Conduct secondary research and data collection from publicly available sources to support programme design and knowledge outputs.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in public policy, Development Studies, Sustainability, Social Sciences, Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 0-1 years of work experience in relevant field.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Tamil.
- Strong coordination, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage parallel tasks effectively.
- Good research, documentation, and analytical skills, including ability to synthesize information clearly.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with design tools such as Canva is desirable.
- Prior internship, academic project, or experience related to program coordination, training, research, or communications is preferred
