Head of Nature-based Solutions

Job description
Our planet is in peril. We are facing a triple challenge. Averting dangerous climate change, feeding and providing sustainable livelihoods for a growing global population and creating space for nature. At WWF UK we are front and centre in meeting these challenges and are scaling up the deployment and financing of nature-based solutions to protect, manage and restore natural capital.

This new strategy has created an incredible opportunity for a senior level programme deliverer to become our Head of Nature-Based Solution (NBS) Programmes and drive the development of the needed systemic infrastructure to reduce transaction costs and drive higher volumes of NBS activity.

In close collaboration with our strategic partner and corporate donor, you will take responsibility for the smooth running and growth of this programme. Leading a small team, you will ensure work is developed and delivered to a high standard as well as oversee budgets. You will identify NBS projects, promote NBS solutions at events and conferences as well as make sure programme KPI’s are met. We will also look to you to drive growth by attracting significant co-funding through finding new investors and partners.

To succeed, you must have a track record of managing successful programmes in an international organisation. Comfortable motivating and inspiring teams to deliver you will be effective at building partnerships and coordinating activities across international boundaries. You will have a broad understanding of business planning and financing too. You will also be familiar the realities of delivering conservation and social development programmes.

A strategic thinker, you will possess strong communication and influencing skills as well as a general understanding of the technical aspects of NBS, including relevant regional and global policies. Naturally, you will have a passion for, and understanding of conservation and development issues.

If you understand the realities of delivering NBS in an international context, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our website via the link, complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up-to-date CV with the Supporting Statement highlighting what makes you a good fit for us.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.
