Major Functions:

The Assistant Manager/ Manager, Programme Operations, works closely with the Director of Conservation & Science and the Director of Climate & Sustainability to ensure delivery of the Conservation strategy. This role provides operational support and oversight across the entire programme management cycle, covering projects under Community, Nature and Climate & Sustainability themes. The successful candidate can operate at both strategic and operational levels, coordinating with Department Heads, Project Managers, WWF staff in implementing offices and external vendors and stakeholders to support completion of ongoing projects, drive new programme development and lead programme reporting.

Responsibilities:

Programme Management:

  • Employ WWF project management principles, tools and practices to partner with programmes teams of the Conservation Department towards successful completion of milestones;
  • Monitor programme progress and bring forward potential issues and possible solutions in collaboration with the project managers to the leadership team.
  • Focal point for Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework for WWF-Singapore office
  • Refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for regional and local project evaluations, including guidelines for project review and approval process to facilitate consistent quality and accountability across all projects

Operation and Financial Oversight:

  • Oversee programme reporting to key stakeholders, including maintaining a detailed project tracker and providing regular reporting to theme teams, Senior Management Team and the Board.
  • Collaborate with project teams to support day-to-day operations, including interoffice agreements, procurement to ensure smooth delivery of projects
  • Co-ordinate with Finance team to ensure budgets are well-aligned with secured funding, and project expenditure is on track
  • Support the tracking and reporting process for WWF-SG to report its impact and contribution as a network office.

Programme Operations Development and Capability Building:

  • Manage the learning and adaptation cycle within the organisation, ensure that WWF Singapore’s framework and processes are followed from project design to completion;
  • Work with local and regional project managers to track and improve the delivery of projects to improve impact and revenue recognition.
  • Support the Director of Conservation & Science and Director of Climate and Sustainability in conducting quality assurance of new programme and project proposals.
  • Develop programme management strategy to grow WWF-Singapore’s projects and conservation impact locally and regionally
  • Provide support to the company’s digital transformation initiative, ensuring the successful adoption of new technologies and processes.

Skills and Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management or a relevant field.
  • At least 10 years of financial/programme management experience within an international organization, audit firm or charity with complex donor requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of project accounting and programme operation management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, data visualisation tools and comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to prioritise and operate under tight deadlines
  • Experience working with international teams and achieving impact
  • Team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
