Business Sector Engagement Officer
Project Site: Manila City, position to be based in WWF-Philippines Head Office
Period: 1 March 2022 to 31 December 2022
Reports to: PSC-TVA Project Manager
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
- Prepare a prioritization matrix for identifying business companies from the Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe's, University and Mall sectors that will participate in the business sector plastic waste reduction activity of the Project;
- Align with WWF’s Corporate Team for the due diligence process on business engagement;
- Conduct a rapid solid waste baseline assessment of the project identified partner business companies;
- Develop together with the project partner a plastic waste reduction and management plan;
- Together with the project partner company, formulate a plastic waste reduction and management plan monitoring system;
- Ensure effective project documentation and monitoring including timely reporting as aligned with the work plan; do liaison works with stakeholder groups and relevant partners involved in project implementation;
- Build effective working relationships and facilitates the involvement and participation of the target stakeholders;
- Attend regular staff meetings and participates in regular planning and assessment meetings with staff vis-à-vis set plans;
- Perform other tasks incidental to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
KEY OUTPUTS/DELIVERABLES
- Project Partners Prioritization Matrix.
- Due diligence
- Rapid Waste Baseline Assessment Report.
- Project Partners Plastic Waste Reduction and Management Plan
- Monitoring System for the implementation of partners’ plastic waste reduction and management plan
- Monthly work plan and accomplishment report
- Documentation of meetings and project activities.
- Liquidation reports of all cash advances.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by supervisor from time to time.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Internal: Within WWF Philippines – Project Manager and members of the Project Team, interacts with NPIN Project staff and WWF officer and staff.
- External: City Government, Business Chamber of Commerce, Consultants, stakeholders, other NGOs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- KNOWLEDGE: Graduate degree preferably in Marketing, Business, Social Science, or other related courses with stakeholder engagement and management
- An understanding of general business practices and the local business environment.
- Ability to understand internal business processes of all sectors and identify collaboration opportunities.
- EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years’ experience in partnership acquisition and retention, and project coordination. Background in solid waste management is an advantage.
- SKILLS and ABILITIES: Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Must be excellent in both oral and written communication in English and Tagalog.
- Must have people skills and be able to work as a team.
- Must be willing to learn about WWF and the various conservation projects.
- Must be open minded, willing to learn new methods and techniques, & must demonstrate ability to think, make sound judgment, and deliver workable solutions.
- The job entails staying within the community of the project site sometimes, thus one should feel comfortable in the demands and nature of the job.
- Must be computer know how to use MS Office.
