Principal Functions:
Study the feasibility of implementing proactive conservation management on potential new Biodiversity Management Zones (BMZs) adjacent to Mai Po Nature Reserve and within the Wetland Conservation Area so as to support WWF’s vision to propose to the Hong Kong government.

Support the engagement work of key stakeholders in the Deep Bay wetland landscape.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Document the land ownership and tenure of the potential new BMZs through online search and site visit;

Assess the possibility of resolving problems related to land ownership and/or land tenure;

Help recommend proactive conservation measures to be implemented in the new BMZs and identify the resources required

Help identify key stakeholders who are and will be involved in wetland conservation and management in Deep Bay;

Lead the organization of a conservation forum for the Deep Bay wetland landscape;

Help introduce WWF’s concept for integrated conservation of Mai Po and Deep Bay wetlands;

Develop and maintain good relationships with the key stakeholders.

Degree holder in Social Sciences, Landscape Studies, Environmental Science, or other relevant disciplines

Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in conservation research & analysis and stakeholders relations engagement

Knowledge and experiences in fishpond management and local community work are preferable

Proficiency in computer software: Microsoft Office and GIS technique is preferred

Fluent in Cantonese and English

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

An outgoing and considerate character with open-minded to interact with different stakeholders and situations
