1 MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT
To provide strategic leadership to drive results and impact, via the development of robust, resilient and highly performing WWF International Country Offices that deliver on WWF’s global priorities in an effective, efficient and accountable manner. Key focus areas are:
- Strengthening the planning capacity of WWF Int Country Offices, to design programmes and projects based on local priorities but aligned with the Regional and Global strategies.
- Strengthening the systems and practise of measurement and reporting, to ensure WWF Int Country Offices follow an integrated approach, based on standardised metrics.
- Enabling programme and data quality assurance, cutting-edge information management, data analyses and reporting, via routine monitoring of Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) capacity and providing tailored support as needed.
2 MAJOR FUNCTIONS
The Senior Specialist, Data Management and Impact Reporting supports WWF International Country Offices by leveraging their data reported into the PMEL system to develop and maintain tailored and well-designed Power BI dashboards that meet their target audiences' needs at different levels. The role will ensure the systems, tools, and processes support the effective use of data in performance, risk, and impact monitoring. The Specialist will work closely with the Data Solutions Department to ensure the design of robust and streamlined data architectures that enable seamless integration of the Country Offices' data into impact reporting.
Key Functions:
- Develop and maintain data visualization tools and dashboards to enhance data accessibility and usability.
- Provide training and support to Country Offices on the use of PMEL systems and dashboards.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify key metrics and indicators for impact reporting.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across all reporting platforms.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in data visualization and impact reporting.
- Facilitate the integration of new data sources into existing reporting systems.
3 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Dashboard Development and Maintenance:
- Develop, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards tailored to the needs of Country Offices, ensuring they meet the requirements of different target audiences.
- Provide impactful business intelligence and analysis through these dashboards and data literacy presentations.
Support and Capacity Building:
- Support WWF International Country Offices in leveraging their data for effective impact reporting.
- Develop capacity, promote consistency, and provide technical assistance across Country Offices to use data and information for evidence-based conservation solutions.
Coordination and Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Data Solutions Department to ensure the design of robust and streamlined data architectures.
- Ensure seamless integration of the Country Offices' data into impact reporting.
Reporting and Presentation:
- Support the consolidation and preparation of analytical results and reports for key audiences using appropriate tools of data presentation (Tableau, Excel, PPT, Google Workspace, etc.) based on audience needs and decision-making requirements.
- Ensure performance monitoring and analysis reflects WWF Reporting and Accounting Principles and the WWF Operational Network Standards.
Data Stewardship:
- Data Quality Management: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data managed by the Impact team, through systematic validation and verification processes.
- Data Governance: Enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain high standards of data integrity and security.
- Metadata Management: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, definitions, and lineage to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure all data handling and reporting activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the Network data team and impact reporting teams to align data management practices with WWF objectives.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Measurement and Impact.
4 PROFILE
Required Qualifications:
- University degree in Conservation, IT, CS, or other relevant subjects.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in data management and analysis using Power BI.
- Experience in an international, multicultural working environment is desirable.
- Experience in project monitoring (M&E) in the conservation area is desirable.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrated Power BI skills to produce simple yet powerful reports.
- At ease with data, including data modeling but also able to tell the story behind the numbers.
- Analytical and strategic thinker.
- Detail-oriented, rigorous, and precise.
- Excellent Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Office tools experience.
- Data modelling, SQL, and data quality management are desired.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written English); other languages are an asset.
- Ability to handle complexity and multi-tasking.
- Systems thinker, logical, creative, and problem solver.
- Excellent presentation skills using graphs, infographics, etc.
- Team player.

5 WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Work with WWF International Country Offices and Regional team colleagues.
Coordinate closely with the Data Solutions Department and other relevant units.
External:
Benchmark with other organizations doing similar work.
Engage with third-party suppliers as needed.
