Living Planet Morocco, official partner of WWF in Morocco, is seeking: a local Coordinator for the WAMANSebou Project

  • Duration of the contract : 3 years
  • Start date : 1 July 2018

Mission

Under the direct responsibility of the President of Living Planet Morocco and in collaboration with the Freshwater Project Officer, the local coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and supervising the activitiesof the project “Managing water Abstraction and promoting Water Environment in the Sebou basin, Morocco (WAMAN Sebou)” aiming at reducing the impact of water abstraction and unsustainable water infrastructure on river basins biodiversity and functioning, according to agreed objectives and time scale. The local coordinator will work with the authorities, public partners, NGOs and the local population.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

He / she will:
  • Be in direct contact with the Administrative and Financial Department based in Casablanca to facilitate all the logistical and administrative tasks of the project at the local level
  • Manage relationships with different project partners at local level
  • Support the Freshwater Project Officer in the implementation of project activities
  • Facilitate contacts and meetings at the local level
  • Coordinate and ensure the implementation of project activities according to the work plan
  • Ensure the establishment of good working relations with local partners in the Sebou Basin
  • Manage logistics for the organization of missions, meetings, project workshops in the Sebou (field visit; project material and equipment management)
  • Monitor the activities in collaboration with international and national partners of the project
  • Ensure that project activities contribute fully to the objectives
  • Inform the direction on a weekly basis to ensure full coordination with other project components
  • Liaise with all project partners
  • Write the project documents (PV, meeting reports, technical reports, mission reports).

Profile/Qualifications

  • Engineering or BAC+4 degree in one of the following fields: Environmental and Social Sciences, Forestry, Agriculture, Water Resources Management
  • 4 years minimum experience in project management
  • Good knowledge of the Sebou Basin region
  • Good writing and oral skills in French and Arabic
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint tools
  • Very dynamic and mobile
  • Ability to mobilize and convince
  • Good conflict management skills
  • Ability to adapt to different interlocutors
  • Ability to work independently
