WWF France (220 000 donors, 3 000 volunteers, 90 employees, budget of 24m€, 5 sites) is recruiting in its programmes department a 3-years short term contract to advise and coordinate WWF 3-years global programme on energy efficiency.

WWF France (220 000 donors, 3 000 volunteers, 90 employees, budget of 24m€, 5 sites) is recruiting in its programmes department a 3-years short term contract to advise and coordinate WWF 3-years global programme on energy efficiency.


Responsibilities:

Under the responsibility of the WWF France Head of Climate, Energy and Sustainable Cities programmes, and in
close collaboration with WWF global Climate and Energy Practice, you will coordinate and support the WWF global community on energy efficiency 3-years programme by:

  • Developing a global 3-years programme strategy and implementation plan for WWF’s work on energy efficiency

  • Coordinating WWF network engagement around energy efficiency, engaging WWF Climate and Energy
Practice

  • Providing expertise and capacity building for the WWF network on energy efficiency and energy demand
reduction in relation to regulatory and economic frameworks

  • Following the development of energy efficiency expertise, innovation and reports and thus act as an internal
information clearing house on energy efficiency

  • Developing partnerships and collaboration with strategic networks and stakeholders to accelerate global
improvement of energy efficiency

  • Supporting WWF work on energy efficiency in the context of the implementation of the Paris Agreement and
its Nationally Determined Contributions

  • Developing common policy positions, programmatic approaches and technical messaging on the issue

  • Integrating energy efficiency in other WWF and projects, like on cities or energy access

  • Representing WWF in conferences and forums related to energy efficiency


Required qualifications, skills and competencies:

  • Master’s degree in energy-related topics, ideally with scientific qualification or similar proof of expertise
(environmental, engineering, climate and/or social)
  • More than 5 years of direct experience in energy efficiency projects and policy
  • High level technical and scientific competencies on energy transition (energy system, renewables, grids,
climate and emissions, energy management, data and digital, innovation)
  • Some managerial experience
  • Rigorous scientific mind, and excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and in French, and an ability to communicate
complicated messages clearly to different audiences including through written materials, one-to-one meetings
and presentations. Any other language is considered as an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of the challenges and facts on energy efficiency and related topics
  • Great ability to work with teams and in different cultural contexts. Tried and tested experience of building
capacity and knowhow in different cultural contexts
  • High performance orientation and ability to work in virtual team structures
  • Great interest in environmental issues
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Pack


Conditions of the position:

  • 3-years mission contract
  • Starting as soon as possible
