Program Overview
WRI Indonesia is an independent national research organization that focuses its works on the nexus of economic development, environmental conservation, and human well-being. It is important for the organization to identify the research building blocks for achieving the vision of WRI Indonesia to become a sustainable and impactful research organization, and to encourage science- and data-driven decision-making at the national and sub-national levels.

As the country’s commitment to sustainable development steadily grows, WRI Indonesia seeks to catalyze the realization of the commitment through research in less explored but strategic areas. To generate rigorous and reliable knowledge products that are useful for decision-makers, WRI Indonesia needs to produce research products that consist of cutting-edge issues at the intersection of the environment, economic opportunity, and human well-being. This not only is going to help WRI Indonesia to forge a research tradition but also support WRI Indonesia's mission of reducing greenhouse gas emissions through applied science and actions-based research.
