Objective of the position

Support the technical team in the design, planning and development of activities in the framework of the project funded by UK PACT to support the Colombian Government initiative of BiodiverCities, while ensuring coordination between participating WRI offices, the implementing consortium, and the donor.


  • Support the technical team on day-to-day activities, such as elaboration of project related research, ensuring coordination across different workstreams related to urban planning, urban environmental resilience, public policy, and climate resilience.
  • Coordinate various work activities and support in the coordination from other WRI teams.
  • Review local information sources to build indicators and their conceptual framework for the monitoring and evaluation of the BiodiverCities Initiative.
  • Monitor electoral process of the national government of Colombia to approach candidates and their respective teams and generate key points of contact.
  • Support the preparation and actively participate in meetings with governmental entities, partners, and allies to ensure the implementation and continuity of the BiodiverCities initiative.
  • Carefully review the new national governments plans and projects to identify opportunities and challenges regarding the implementation and continuity of the BiodiverCities initiative in this new framework.
  • Support and participate in the generation of a national level governance scheme proposal for the Initiative.
  • Support and actively participate in the completion and delivery of technical advance reports with corresponding evidence for each quarter, as requested by the funder.
  • Support and actively participate in coordination meetings and calls with the consortium partners to guarantee coordination and planning for the delivery of the project.
  • Support and actively participate in meetings and calls with the funder and related agencies.

  • Strong computer skills including high level of comfort with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web-based communications (Teams, Zoom)



Bachelor's degree in a related field (urban studies, urban planning, sustainable development, public policy, political science, among others)


1 – 2 years of relevant, full-time work experience
