WRI India has the capacity to convene key stakeholders, and forge strategic partnerships with governments, business, foundations, civil society organizations, institutes and NGOs, to scale-up solutions that can bring game-changing results for the sustainable management of natural resources in India.

Scope and Schedule of Work:

The WRI India RDI consultant will:

  • Mentor and advise research teams and authors on how to develop and. strengthen research planning, design and methods, literature review, data collection and analysis, and organizing and presenting research to intended audiences, including policymakers, peers in think tanks and multilateral development organizations, businesses and other researchers.
  • Review WRI India research/ publication plans and drafts of publications (WRI Knowledge products, Commentaries and Policy Briefs) at various stages and provide early feedback, written and verbal, to ensure research quality and adherence to WRI Research standards and guidelines, in regular consultation with India RDI Director.
  • Review and provide approvals in a timely manner for selected working papers, issue briefs, reports and other knowledge products for internal and external review and final production.
  • Support, contribute to and help organize RDI research trainings, workshops and seminars as required, in consultation with RDI India Director.
Qualifications and requirements we seek:

  • PhD in an environmental/development discipline. Professional experience in environment/development practice, training, MEL, report writing and field-based work will be an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in conducting policy-relevant research on Indian environment or development issues.
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and researchers with different levels of experience, background and skills.

Compensation

  • Compensation is commensurate with experience and skills.

Duration:

  • Part-time consultant, at 20/hours a week for a period of six-months with possibility of extension. Preferred start date 15 March 2022.
