Country Engagement Partner Engagement Specialist
This is a hybrid position which requires 8 days per month in the office. You can be based in our office in London or Bonn. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

About The Program
The NDC Partnership is a global coalition, bringing together more than 260 members, including more than 140 countries, developed and developing, and more than 110 institutions to deliver on ambitious climate action that helps achieve the Paris Agreement and drive sustainable development. Governments identify their NDC implementation priorities and the type of support that is needed to translate them into actionable policies and programs. Based on these requests, the membership offers a tailored package of expertise, technical assistance and funding. This collaborative response provides developing countries with efficient access to a wide range of resources to adapt to and mitigate climate change and foster more equitable and sustainable development. The NDC Partnership Support Unit is jointly hosted by the World Resources Institute (WRI), the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the UN Climate Change Secretariat (UNFCCC). This fixed-term staff position will be contracted through WRI.
Job Highlight
Under the guidance of the NDC Partnership Support Unit's Country Engagement (CE) Partner Engagement Manager, you will provide research, analytical, coordination, and administrative support to enable more effective and systematic engagement of key initiatives (with a focus on the Country Platforms Hub) and partners across the Country Engagement team. You will help ensure that information flows efficiently across teams, that engagement activities are properly tracked and documented, and that the CE Director and CE Partner Engagement Manager have the inputs needed to make strategic decisions about programmatic partner engagement as part of Country Engagement.
Key Support Functions Include
Research and analytical inputs to inform initiative and partner engagement Coordination and logistics support to facilitate collaboration with key initiatives and partners Information management and tracking across partner engagement activities Administrative support for technical assistance (TA) fund management. Given the cross-cutting nature of partner engagement, you will also support the provision of CE-specific partner engagement information to other teams in the Support Unit, including regional and programmatic teams under Country Engagement, as well as with the Knowledge & Learning team and the Office of the Chief of Staff.

What You Will Do
Research and Analytical Support for Partner Engagement (40%):
- Gather and prepare analytical inputs to inform the Partnership’s engagement in the Country Platforms (CP) Hub, including country-level insights, information on relevant requests, partner support and complementarity/alignment among CP-related partner activities, from the Country Engagement team, embedded advisors and facilitators and other information sources, as well as briefing notes, and talking points
- Gather and prepare analytical inputs to inform CE-related partner engagement, including overviews of requests from countries to the Partnership (drawn from the Partnership’s knowledge management system, the kNook) and insights from across the CE team, as well as briefing notes, and talking points
- Conduct research on partner programs, initiatives, coalitions, and matchmaking platforms, identifying potential entry points for country support and matchmaking opportunities
- Systematize insights from CE-related engagement with key initiatives and partners to inform the Management Team and the wider Support Unit
- Support coordination and information exchange with other core partners in the Country Platforms Hub to avoid fragmented support and maximize synergies with the Partnership’s broader in-country engagement
- Support coordination around convenings and events related to partner engagement, including those linked to the Country Platforms Hub
- Coordinate logistics for partner meetings and trainings, including preparation of materials, scheduling, and participant coordination
- Attend calls with key initiatives, including the Country Platforms Hub, and partners alongside the CE Partner Engagement Manager and other team members, taking notes and flagging updates to relevant team members
- Follow up with CE team members to ensure timely inputs for partner engagement activities
- Support internal tracking of relevant data for the Country Platforms Hub, ensuring information is current and accessible
- Maintain and update partner engagement tracking systems (e.g., Monday.com boards, Salesforce) to ensure systematic documentation of contact details, engagement activities, and outcomes
- Review request circulations to identify entry points for partners, initiatives, coalitions, and matchmaking platforms based on their thematic, sectoral, and/or geographic priorities
- Coordinate with the CE team to gather and systematize information on partner engagement at the country and regional level
- Provide administrative support for the day-to-day management of Support Unit-managed TA funds
- Support the identification of opportunities to deploy TA fund resources by surfacing relevant requests from circulations
- Assist with preparation of status reports and inputs for donor reporting
- Provide additional support for CE strategic priorities as needed, including support for CE strategy development processes.
- Education: You have a completed bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, economics, engineering, environmental management, climate, political science, administration, finance, international relations, international development, or a related field.
- Experience: You have relevant full time professional experience with research and analytics, including preparing briefing materials and reports
- Experience with information management, tracking systems, and data organization
- Experience coordinating logistics for events, trainings, or meetings
- Experience in coordination with internal and external partners
- Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft suite, project management tools (e.g., Monday.com), and cloud-based collaboration platforms
- Experience in producing written materials
- Experience managing competing deadlines
- Experience with a non-profit, government, or multilateral institution is desirable
- Knowledge of international development cooperation approaches and objectives is desirable
- Languages: You are proficient in English. Proficiency in French, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic or Russian is desirable
- Requirements: You have an existing right to work in the UK or Germany.
