THE ROLE

The Senior Business Analyst (SBA) will be responsible for managing a team of Business Analysts (BA) and Business Partners (BP), ensuring that all Business areas are fully supported in their digital enablement journey.

Working closely with the Senior Programme Manager (SPM) the SBA will work on key projects and programmes bringing experience and best practices to the Team as well as supporting and mentoring the BP’s and BA’s in order to ensure they are developing professionally and are bringing maximum value and impact to the organisation.

The SBA will be a strategic link between the business and the Head of Technology Transformation providing an aerial view of what needs to be achieved, linking this to the activities and projects being highlighted by the BP’s and BA’s.


THE CANDIDATE

  • Experience of managing a team of Business Partners or Business Analysts
  • Ability to work strategically and see the bigger picture
  • Excellent relationship development and senior stakeholder engagement skills
  • Personable, diplomatic and empathetic with strong listening skills
  • Outstanding communication skills – must be confident and comfortable communicating through formal and informal methods to engage with a range of audiences and individuals
  • Able to build and maintain good working relationships whilst delivering difficult and challenging messages
  • Ability to take technical jargon and translate it into something which is easily understood in a wider context across the organisation.
  • Ability to understand and articulate Business requirements as a suitable output e.g. user stories
  • Experienced in eliciting business requirements using a variety of different approaches
  • Excellent analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach
  • Understanding the full project lifecycle from initiation to BAU handover
  • An appreciation of the importance of project governance and the need to keep accurate documents and records.
  • Experienced of working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and is comfortable in flexing between the two approaches depending upon the need of the business.
  • Has worked with Kanban and scrum delivery teams
  • Confident in supporting and training users on IT systems
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills in order to build relationships within the Department as well as across the organisation and with third parties.
  • Personable, diplomatic and empathetic with strong listening skills
  • Excellent negotiation and collaboration skills, with proven ability to secure commitment from individuals.
  • A passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change
  • The capacity to motivate others and lead change
  • The ability to work under pressure on multiple projects
