We are looking for confident individuals to lead a team of face-to-face fundraising officers. You will be leading by personal example, to engage members of the public about the Woodland Trust at various events and venues, with the aim of inspiring them to become new financial supporters.
This leadership role will suit anyone with a passion for the environment and conservation who is looking for the next step in their fundraising career.

*This is a home based position covering North East England*

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. We want to see a world where trees and woods thrive for people and nature. The Trust engages and inspires people to make their difference tackling the nature and climate crisis helping protect, restore and create our vital woods and trees.


  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 5 days a week including weekends and bank holidays
  • Attending public events, festivals, markets, and our own woodland sites
  • Engaging with the public to inspire them to join as members
  • Manage own time and that of team members
  • Collaborating with the Events team to build an events portfolio
  • On-board, develop and retain a team of face-to-face fundraisers
  • Deliver agreed KPIs and outputs

Our Lead Face to Face Fundraising Officers work hard to develop and lead their teams to engage with thousands of new supporters each year, inspiring people to join the Trust, increasing our income and enabling us to do the essential work for which we have become so well-known.

As a Lead Face to Face Fundraising Officer you will manage, support and coach a team of Face to Face Fundraisers who will attend our woodland sites and other various venues and events, promoting the Woodland Trust and informing the public about the wonderful things we do.

Your role will be to coach and mentor your team and enable them to effectively communicate the benefits of woods and trees and the necessity of our work. Leading to enabling people to make an informed choice to join the Trust as members.

We have targets but it’s not all about numbers. The role is incredibly rewarding, and you will be applying your skills to do something crucial for the natural world. Motivating people to add their voices and support our cause without feeling pressured.


You’ll need experience working in a fundraising, membership development or sales-driven environment.

You will be:
  • An excellent communicator who can develop a high functioning, outcome orientated team
  • Leading from the front with the ability to coach and mentor your team
  • Experienced in performance management, being a champion of your team but also able to address areas of underperformance
  • Successful at either F2F fundraising, sales or membership development
  • Experienced in remotely managing a team
  • Ready to share your passion for the environment
