Product Development and Marketing Manager (FTC)

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Product Development & Marketing Manager to shape the Trust’s merchandise strategy and manage our portfolio of products (merchandise, personal carbon and virtual gifts).

The Role:

  • This role will develop new products for our target audience to generate income and increase profitability.
  • The role will also lead on the tendering process for suppliers and collaborate with Digital Enablement to manage and develop the online shop platform.
  • This opportunity is a 9-month fixed term contract.
  • This role includes a mix of working from home and at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Visits to Grantham would be required no more than once a month on average.

The Candidate:

  • You have an enthusiasm for the environment and share our core values—Grow Together, Explore, Focus and Make it Count
  • You will be either professionally qualified and/or with relevant experience in a buying, merchandising or product development role. Experience in marketing communications – including integrated multi-channel marketing is also desirable.
  • You will have a deep understanding of the retail sector, be commercially minded and have experience in the merchandising process, including buying, budgeting, and stock management.
  • You will have managed relationships with suppliers and will have experience of using data and commercial knowledge to plan marketing and product launch activities.
  • You will understand the importance of aligning our organisational and sustainability values with the products that we sell and have knowledge of government and retail standards e.g. FSC requirements.
  • This role requires travel across the UK so a full UK driving licence would be beneficial.
