The Role – What You’ll Do
The Finance Assistant is a key role within our Finance Department. This is an exciting opportunity to learn skills that will be valuable for life and, what’s more, you will learn all of this in a charity environment that is helping to shape the future of conservation.

The role will involve:
  • Preparing budgets to ensure the Trust is working on track
  • Maintaining reports to ensure all data is kept up to date and correct
  • Completing basic bookkeeping and accounting duties to support the wider team
  • Accurately maintain financial records
  • Learning how to investigate and resolve queries from suppliers and customers to maintain strong relationships
  • Processing expenses in line with organisational policies
  • Executing bank transfers, foreign and expense payments as per policy guidelines
  • Processing and review daily purchase invoices
  • Helping with the monthly payroll process
  • Handling helpdesk tickets related to financial queries
  • Providing clerical and accounting support to the wider team
  • Learning about and work to our organisational policies and procedures, including GDPR compliance

What You’ll Learn
:
  • You will undertake the Assistant Accountant (Level 3) apprenticeship.

Requirements:
Our main requirement is that you to have a passion for the role you’re applying for! Aside from this, we have a few formal requirements:

Education: GCSE English and maths at grades 4–9 or equivalent

\r

Location: Grantham

\r
Additional Requirements:
  • You’ll be aged at least 16 years old when the apprenticeship starts
  • Whilst we welcome candidates who have a degree or previous qualifications, these cannot be in a field related to the apprenticeship due to a crossover in learning; we’ll request a copy of your qualifications to review your prior learning to see if it contains previous relevant studies
