Responsibilities

As a senior member of the team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting business winning and leading proposals to secure new work
  • Working with / leading small teams of engineers or other technical staff on studies, setting clear technical direction and ensuring timely issue of deliverables
  • Raising awareness of the business environment, market and on-going innovation in technology and research in climate-related subjects and issues
  • Developing tools and methods to improve the efficiency and quality of work performed by the team
  • Liaising with and supporting the Business Manager in tracking study/ project activities
  • Completing work to a high standard and with little to no supervision, using Wood and Client methods, standards, and data in line with requirements
  • Disseminating knowledge and expertise to team members and technical direction for their study / project work
  • Developing business relationships with clients and partnerships with in-house consulting teams
  • Representing the Carbon Advisory team in technical presentations to external and internal customers
  • Providing a technical interface and managing relationships with clients. Proactively identifying most internal and external customer needs or issues

Qualifications

Education & Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Engineering Science, or a technical environmental/ Sustainable Development-related subject
  • Approximately 5 to 10 years’ experience in energy sector with proven ability to delivery / lead projects and business development.
  • Strong background in process engineering and energy systems optimization.
  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, pinch analysis software) for energy efficiency and heat integration.
  • Knowledge of industrial decarbonisation technologies and their application in real-world projects.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into actionable strategies for clients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in international best practices in energy and carbon efficiency
  • An understanding of the international policy and economic frameworks driving climate change agendas
  • Strong analytical skills and can systematically break a complex task into more manageable parts and identify the critical components of a problem
  • A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient/ fluent in English
  • Demonstrable high-quality report writing and presentation skills
  • Good organisational and project management skills
  • Keen to learn and to share learning with others

Desirable

  • Demonstrable background in engineering decarbonisation studies and/or life cycle assessments
  • Familiarity with heat integration techniques (e.g., pinch analysis) and thermal system optimization
  • Knowledge of electrification strategies for industrial processes and integration of renewables
  • Experience in techno-economic analysis and cost-benefit evaluation of decarbonisation projects.
  • Ability to work with emerging technologies (e.g., carbon utilization, bioenergy, synthetic fuels).
  • Proficiency in digital tools for energy optimization, such as process simulation, AI/ML for predictive maintenance, or digital twins.
  • Good negotiation skills
