Associate, Federal Policy | Converge Strategies | Remote, US

The Associate is a full-time, supporting position designed to build, strengthen, and refine core consulting, policy analysis, and project management skill sets. This position is ideal for an early-career professional who is eager to learn about national security, climate resilience, and energy innovation while coordinating closely with the CSL team and external project stakeholders. CSL offers a fully remote or hybrid working environment with a supportive culture dedicated to maintaining a sustainable, balanced workweek. Anticipated required travel up to 25%.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Policy Analysis and Research

  • Research & Synthesize: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on current and emerging energy technologies and practices, and how these efforts enable federal and state resilience goals. Synthesize findings into clear briefings, white papers, and memos.
  • Regulatory & Policy Support: Analyze federal, state, and local energy policies, research reports, and utility regulatory proceedings. Support the analysis and development of Department of Defense (DoD) energy and climate resilience strategies. Contribute analysis that helps broaden and deepen federal and state stakeholders’ understanding of the national security importance of Department of Energy (DOE) programs.
  • Deliverable Drafting: Assist in drafting high-quality client deliverables, including strategic reports, white papers, technical briefing decks, and project roadmaps in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Project Coordination: Provide structured support to senior team members in meeting preparation, deliverable production, and task tracking. Maintain organized project records.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Coordination

  • Workshop Facilitation: Participate in virtual and in-person workshop coordination, applying industry-leading event tools and techniques under the direction of senior team members.
  • Stakeholder Outreach: Assist in engaging, building, and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholder groups, including military officials, state/local government representatives, utilities, NGOs, and private sector clean energy companies.
  • Partnership Support: Support energy and climate partnerships between private corporations, government agencies, and the national security enterprise, capturing and recording client needs during engagements.
