The Role: Business Development Manager

WN1 Sustainability is looking for an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing sales team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced BDM or closer to develop their career within the sustainability sector while earning strong, realistic commission.

You will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle, from attending qualified appointments through to closing deals, while building long-term client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the business.


Key Responsibilities


  • Attend pre-qualified customer meetings generated by our telemarketing team
  • Build strong client relationships and convert opportunities into completed deals
  • Conduct lighting surveys in line with company processes
  • Generate new leads through referrals and networking
  • Manage and maintain an accurate sales pipeline using the company CRM
  • Identify competitor activity through effective questioning and research
  • Generate client testimonials from completed projects
  • Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and team knowledge-sharing forums
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Complete all required administrative tasks aligned with the role


Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Business Development or closing role
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets
  • Strong consultative selling approach, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and CRM systems
  • GCSE English and Maths (A-C preferred)
  • Ability to commute daily to WN1 Sustainability’s Wigan office


What We Offer
  • Competitive basic salary £40,000 (depending on experience)
  • Realistic on-target earnings of £80,000
