We are looking for a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to join our Production Engineering Team. In this role, you will help drive the strategic deployment of tooling, equipment, and automation to support high-rate aerospace fabrication and assembly. Your work will be instrumental in shaping Wisk’s advanced manufacturing capabilities as we bring autonomous, all-electric flight to reality.
Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Mountain View office.

Achieving our vision requires manufacturing solutions that support the efficient and precise low-rate production of our fully autonomous, all-electric aircraft. In this role, you will focus on developing and optimizing current tooling and equipment to meet immediate production needs. The lessons learned from this phase will directly inform the transition to high-rate manufacturing. As part of the Production Systems team, you will play a key role in shaping a world-class aerospace manufacturing facility, with a focus on energy storage and power distribution systems.
We’re looking for someone with experience designing customized tooling and equipment to solve unique manufacturing challenges. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, adapts quickly to change, and collaborates effectively across disciplines. Success in this role requires proactive problem-solving, forward thinking, and strong communication skills to drive impactful solutions.
What you will do:
Own manufacturing projects from early design phases through introduction to production lines
Support manufacturing activities, both internal to Wisk and externally at vendors and potential technical partners
Support Battery assembly through aircraft integration, using Wisk determined CAD and PLM tools
Work closely with a cross functional project team to develop manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment, procedures, quality control points, inspection plans, etc.
Improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
Help define and develop process documents and work instructions that define the manufacturing processes and best practices to establish the foundation for the Manufacturing system at Wisk
Learn about the Battery assembly and how it integrates with the overall aircraft and interacts with other subsystems
Support builds of the Battery assembly from prototype to high-rate production.
Coordinate and collaborate closely with the Systems Test function to support testing of the propulsion system and determine how best to incorporate testing into at-rate production
What you have done:
B.S. in a relevant engineering discipline with at least 8 years of experience working with Power storage, battery assembly, and electrical boxes
You have exposure to high-rate production environments and have experience working with integrating electro-mechanical systems
You have hands-on experience integrating complex, safety-critical systems and solving associated problems.
Familiar with drafting standards/GD&T, has ability to interpret, correct, and create engineering drawings
Proficient with CAD software (NX or CATIA preferred)
Experience with automation and knowledge of designing and implementing automated systems.
Experience working with cross-functional teams to improve the manufacturability of a product (Design for Manufacturing) while controlling cost and weight
Comfortable creating new solutions to problems, working in a dynamic environment, and with members from different disciplines and backgrounds
Improved safety and reliability in build processes that mitigate or prevent injury through PFMEA principles
Detail oriented with strong documentation skills with respect to project and task tracking
Desired:
You are familiar with Siemens tools (NX, TeamCenter, Easy Plan, Opscenter etc.)
Must be able to easily access our facilities in Mountain View, CA and be open to eventual relocation to High rate Manufacturing location
Experience working on certified aircraft and in a regulated environment (e.g. AS9100, FAA Certification, or similar)
Experience in development and integration of automated manufacturing processes to bring prototypes to high-rate production
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma principles
Familiar with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Opcenter
Familiarity with engineering configuration management tools such as Teamcenter and JIRA
Ability to drive continuous improvement & optimization efforts to reduce production costs and safety events while improving yield, quality, reliability, and performance
Familiarity of Statistical/Advanced Process Control (SPC/APC) and implementation
Familiarity of Process Stability and Capability (CP/CPK)
Familiarity with high voltage systems and relevant safety protocols and equipment

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $153,565 - $180,665 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
