We are looking for a Staff Electrical Test Engineer to be a subject matter expert for our Systems Test team. You will be responsible for defining testing strategies and leading the development and commissioning of test assets for our next-generation eVTOL Energy Storage and Power Systems (ESPS).
Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Mountain View and occasional travel to our Fremont office.
What you will do:
Lead the development and commissioning of performance and manufacturing end-of-line test assets for all electronic components in our battery pack, including BMS and HV/LV power distribution PCBAs and electronic boxes
Drive cross-functional root cause analysis on electrical failures across PCBAs and electronic assemblies, implementing systemic solutions to prevent recurrence
Establish and document best practices for troubleshooting procedures, findings, and corrective actions
Design electrical test fixtures and setups for high-reliability, long-term testing of power electronics and battery systems
Develop and standardize test automation scripts and GUIs using LabVIEW and/or Python to be implemented across all test assets
Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers to define test requirements and plans for development and verification campaigns
Author and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and test procedures
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers on the team
Requirements:
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
8+ years of relevant work experience
Hands-on experience in architecting and leading the assembly of test assets or stations for entirely new hardware
Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and designing from PCB Schematics, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and component datasheets
Proficiency with LabVIEW and/or Python, with a focus on developing test automation software
Experience integrating off-the-shelf test equipment (power supplies, electronic loads, etc.) to test setups
Experience with I2C, SPI, and/or RS485 protocols
Strong interpersonal, communication skills and a team player
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment
Desired:
Extensive experience with HV batteries, BMS, and/or power electronics
Experience with bed-of-nails fixtures for PCBA testing
Experience with using battery cyclers (Chroma, NHR, etc.)
Experience with working with facility upgrades

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $184,000 - $197,800 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
