We are looking for a Sr. Autonomy and Airspace Integration Test Engineer to join our team. The goal of an Sr. Autonomy and Airspace Integration Test Engineer at Wisk is to support test programs for demonstrating how our technologies interact with other elements of the existing aviation ecosystem, to achieve company priorities and to collate a company wide view of our requirements and identify appropriate testing and demonstration opportunities to build credibility with the FAA.). You will be part of the (Autonomy & Airspace Integration IPT) team that (validates the integration of our ConOps, systems and technology into the NAS. This role will support our integration with vertiport, infrastructure, airspace and air traffic management procedures).

This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days. Or remote a commutable distance to Washington D.C.

In this role you will lead a wide variety of efforts related to the overall integration of the Wisk autonomous aircraft into the National Airspace System (NAS). In this role, the candidate must be excellent at building relationships both internally and externally, with teams including Engineering, Certification, Global Partnerships, Flight Test teams, as well as coordination with FAA, NASA and other agencies.

What you will do:

  • As part of the Autonomy & Airspace Integration IPT organization, you will act as a Test Engineer for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market

  • You will support the Airspace Operations Integration Program in managing test programs with external stakeholders to demonstrate how our Gen 6 will safely integrate into the airspace.

  • You will lead the execution of flight and simulation activities, coordinating among internal teams to drive alignment on test objectives.

  • You will develop project plans and schedules with external and internal teams

  • You will develop test plans, collect and analyze test data for each key test event)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, mathematics or physics with at least 5 years of industry experience

  • You have worked in various projects and have strong project management experience, with experience with FAA and NASA projects strongly desired

  • You have hands-on experience on conducting flight tests and/or integrated simulation activities, including data collection and reporting. .

  • You have some knowledge of airspace procedures and design, air traffic management principles, integration and testing, project management, risk management, technical oversight, communication with stakeholders, and preparing project documentations such as project plans and final reports capturing key lessons learned and findings.

  • You have a good understanding of system architecture, system engineering processes, software and hardware systems integration.

  • This role will require 15% of travel

Pay range the company expects to pay: $128,877 - $151,620 per year (SF Bay Area) - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
