We are looking for a Software Tools Project Manager to join our team. The goal of a Software Tools Project Manager at Wisk is to ensure that the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our engineering and analysis efforts across the entire organization is realized. You will be responsible for understanding the needs of various internal stakeholders, defining and prioritizing features, and working closely with engineering teams to deliver world-class solutions that accelerate the development and validation of our autonomous eVTOL aircraft. You will be part of the STS Tools team that provides data infrastructure, simulation infrastructure, and tools across Wisk.
This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.
As a Software Tools Project Manager in this space, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the foundational infrastructure that enables the development and testing of products driving the future of autonomous flight. You will work with modern software technologies and collaborate with talented engineers and researchers across disciplines like flight controls, autonomy, safety, simulation, system test, flight test, manufacturing, and certification.
What you will do:
As part of the STS organization, and deployed in STS Tools you will act as an Infrastructure and Tools Software Project Manager for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market
Define and evangelize the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Wisk's data infrastructure, simulation infrastructure, and associated tools, aligning with the overall company goals and engineering needs.
Deeply understand the needs of internal stakeholders including engineering teams (flight software, autonomy, hardware, flight test, etc.), simulation engineers, data scientists, safety analysts, and certification teams. Conduct user research, gather feedback, and translate requirements into actionable product specifications.
Prioritize and maintain a healthy product backlog based on user value, technical feasibility, and business impact. Make tough decisions on prioritization and effectively communicate trade-offs.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams throughout the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and design to development, testing, and deployment. Act as the voice of the user and ensure the delivered solutions meet their needs.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and adoption of the data and simulation infrastructure and tools. Analyze data and iterate on the product based on insights.
Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering, cloud computing, simulation platforms, and developer tools. Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies to improve our infrastructure and processes.
Communicate product plans, progress, and challenges effectively to stakeholders across the organization, including executive leadership.
Foster a collaborative and user-centric culture within the engineering teams building and utilizing these critical platforms.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on infrastructure, platform, or developer tools.
Familiarity with data infrastructure concepts, including data warehousing, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, data governance, and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, cloud data platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with web software development lifecycles and UX.
Familiarity with software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Desired:
Passion for aviation, autonomous systems, and the future of mobility is a plus.
Familiarity with simulation technologies and frameworks used in robotics, aerospace, or automotive industries is highly desirable.

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $146,733 - $172,627 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
