We are looking for a Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) Lab Manager Engineer to join the Systems Test Team and manage several HIL test stations during the night shift to support remote test operation. You will be responsible for managing the test rack configurations, run diagnostics and help troubleshoot hardware and software issues. This position requires to be onsite and would be a night shift from 6 pm to 4 am approximately.

Why we need you:

  • In order to accelerate our schedule, we are running tests around the clock with different teams across the globe. You will be the onsite support to various test teams working on our Battery Management System (BMS), Vehicle Management System (VMS) and Systems Integration HIL test stations. The successful candidate will be computer savvy, work autonomously, hands-on and eager to solve problems.

What you will do:

  • Work with remote test teams to set up and troubleshoot issues on various HIL Test Stations.
  • Assist in guiding test operators through step-by-step solutions in a clear, concise manner.
  • Configure hardware, software and simulation on different HIL test stations per the test team request.
  • Maintain HIL test stations, operation manuals, configuration management and calibration logs.
  • Load software and firmware update on aircraft equipment and avionics systems.
  • Setup and configure Linux and Windows computers (BIOS, install software).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration and connectivity related issues.
  • Diagnose issues on the HILs, whether they are hardware or software related.
  • Organize the HIL lab, implement inventory and tool control.
  • Inspect and perform routine maintenance on the HIL test stations.

What you have done:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Software or related engineering degree
  • Excellent Python and/or C software scripting skills.
  • Proficient with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with Serial Protocols (RS485, RS422), Ethernet and networking.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working in a Lab environment
  • Proficient with National Instrument (NI) hardware and software (Veristand, Labview, PXI)
  • Strong fundamentals and hands-on experience in analog and/or power electronics design
  • Experience interpreting PCB Schematics, Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and component datasheets
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters as well as tools such as CANalyzer and bus analyzer.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Pay Range the Company expects to pay:$95,700 - $110,000 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
