We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team. The goal of an Electrical Engineer at Wisk is to design safe and reliable high power and control electronics for the aircraft’s propulsion system. You will be part of the Motor Controller team in the Powertrain IPT (integrated product team).

This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.

What you will do:

  • As part of the Propulsion IPT organization and deployed in the Motor Controller Hardware Team you will be focused on supporting design and development of low-voltage and high-voltage designs within a high voltage inverter.

  • You will support testing of electronics hardware, electric motor testing on a dyno, propeller test stand, and also on an aircraft.

  • You will participate in all aspects of product lifecycle development including but not limited to: design support, multi-functional team coordination, deployment of design into product lifecycle management (PLM) software, design verification testing, standardized documentation, requirements verification, and troubleshooting of issues during experimentation.

  • You will regularly coordinate with teams outside of the Motor Controller Team (mechanical, thermal, flight bus, systems, safety) and design to requirements as needed to meet goals of other IPTs.

  • You will help conceptualize designs that optimize the weight and power density of the propulsion unit.

Requirements:

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering, or comparable degree with a strong academic background with coursework and projects or equivalent professional experience in embedded systems, electronics, and electric vehicle design.

  • 2 years of experience with a BS degree is required.

  • Proficiency in CAD and simulation software for electrical design (Altium, LTSpice, Mathworks, Simulink, PLECS, etc).

  • Developed projects in programming environments that contributed to electronic designs. (MATLAB, Python, C, C++, …).

  • Experience simulating/designing/building electronic circuits.

  • Hands-on experience with test equipment and soldering.

  • A good grasp of analog and digital hardware development and validation techniques.

  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware issues during the testing phase of integrated designs.

  • Experience with 10kW+ AC to DC, DC to DC or DC to AC power electronic systems.

  • Familiarity with motors and motor control algorithms.

  • Experience writing and executing test procedures for design validation and qualification.

  • Proficiency in hardware failure investigations, design trade-off analysis, and technical procedure documentation.

  • Ability to write GUIs in Python or Labview

Pay range the company expects to pay: $110,750 - $130,295 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
