We are looking for a Propulsion Test Manager to join our team. The goal of a Propulsion Test Manager at Wisk is to contribute to the development and testing of Wisk’s proprietary electric propulsion systems. You will be part of the Propulsion Integrated Product team that designs and builds electric motors and propellers for our autonomous, passenger carrying eVTOL aircraft

Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Fremont location.

In this role you will lead a team of engineers and technicians to develop test rigs and test methods for Wisk’s novel electric propulsion systems. As a Propulsion Test Manager you will maintain engineering standards for the team to support propulsion development, end-of-line production testing, and verification testing for commercial aircraft certification.

What you will do:

  • Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules, ensuring alignment with program requirements and safety standards.

  • Oversee the design, fabrication, and maintenance of test stands, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.

  • Manage and mentor a team of test engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Analyze test data, identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and generate detailed test reports and presentations.

  • Collaborate closely with design, analysis, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration and problem resolution.

  • Implement and enforce rigorous safety protocols and best practices for all testing activities.

  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within cost.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for test processes and capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in propulsion testing within the aerospace industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.

  • Experience with test stand design, instrumentation (pressure transducers, thermocouples, flow meters, etc.), and data acquisition systems.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW).

  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and resource allocation.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate technical teams.

  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.

  • This role will require 10% of travel

Pay range the company expects to pay: $198,664 - $233,722 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
