We are looking for a Manager of Integrated Rig Testing to join our team. The goal of an Integrated Rig Testing Manager at Wisk is to ensure that the wide range of integration rigs are resourced, developed, operated and maintained to achieve the needs of the program. You will be part of the Aircraft Integration team that is responsible for all design, integration and verification activities to deliver a fully integrated Aircraft for the Wisk Unpiloted Airborne System.

Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Fremont office.

In this role you will:

You will manage a team of Systems Integration Test engineers to design, create, maintain and operate Aircraft Systems Integration rigs that are used for Aircraft Development and Certification. You will be responsible for all activities of the team, coordinating with various multidisciplinary integrated product teams to ensure the rigs meet the needs of the product development lifecycle. You will champion safe test and rig operation, and ensure your team follows all safety protocols, as well as identifying new hazards and safety issues and implementing mitigations with the Wisk Safety team.

What you will do:

  • Lead, grow, and develop the team of system test engineer and technicians specializing in testing and verifying highly complex integrated systems, such as Aircraft and Unpiloted Airborne Systems

  • Work with leadership and technical teams to ensure systems verification activities are integrated into product development plans

  • Lead the team to develop and maintain various test assets, including but not limited to test asset technical documents, safety of operations, hazard assessments, restrictions and special instructions etc.

  • Lead the team to operate and function at pace and schedule as driven by the program needs, including managing extended shifts and dual/multiple shifts

  • With support and engagement from other leadership teams, develop and execute test asset roadmap, to include test asset evolution, allocation to various test phases, across multiple physical locations.

  • Enable your team to develop verification plans and manage their execution

  • Build a strategy for the continued development and growth of the team and its members

  • Enable your team to work closely with the electrical, software and simulation engineers to develop test asset requirements and test plans, and lead the test execution activities on various test assets

  • Enable your team to establish traceability using requirement management tools and version control

  • Your team will be responsible for analysis of test data and trace failures to correct subsystems and work with cross functional development teams to identify the root cause and support resolution

What you have done:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering degree

  • 12+ years of relevant work experience in support of Test and Verification activities of Aerospace systems

  • 3+ years of Hardware/Software in Loop test experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a Managerial role

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Hands on development of test systems.

  • Experience in developing Test artifacts, establishing compliance to ARP4754

Desired:

  • Flight Test experience

  • Knowledge of power electronics and/or avionics systems

  • Knowledge of high voltage battery management and charging

  • Strong fundamentals and hands-on experience in analog and/or power electronics design

  • Familiarity with several communication protocols such as CAN, serial and ethernet

  • Experience interpreting PCB Schematics and component datasheets

  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters as well as tools such as CANalyzer and National Instruments hardware.

  • Experience working with high voltage electrical systems

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Pay range the company expects to pay: $190,145 - $223,700 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
