Senior AI/ML Engineer - Renewable Energy

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior AI/ML Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on developing robust, production-ready AI optimization models. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and China in designing and developing our core AI/ML solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Design, build, and train state-of-the-art AI/ML models for optimizing electric grids operation, including renewable energy generation, storage and dispatch
- Research and integrate emerging technologies to enhance the performance and efficiency of micro-grids in diverse and challenging environments.
- Continuously assess and enhance the performance of AI-powered systems, ensuring system reliability in fluctuating wind and solar conditions.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of developers, ensuring best practices in AI/ML model deployment and scalability.
- Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and engineering teams to translate business goals into technical solutions.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
- A Bachelor/Master’s/Phd degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathmatics, Statistics, or related areas
- 5+ years of previous experience in developing AI-based optimization model
- A background in the renewable energy industry and/or energy management systems is preferred.
- Solid foundation in machine learning, deep learning, algorithms optimization, reinforcement learning, and mathematical optimization
- Strong programming skills, proficient in Python and MySQL; hands-on experience with machine leaning frameworks such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras etc
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members in a collaborative environment.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, capable of working both independently and collaboratively to address complex challenges
- Interested in solving tough technical problems to provide real value to our customers
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with bilingual proficiency in English & Chinese
