About the Role


The Calibration Engineer will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing calibration strategies for advanced fuel systems and engine technologies. This role ensures compliance with performance, emissions, and durability standards while supporting cross-functional teams in delivering high-quality solutions. The position also involves significant customer interaction, training, and global travel to support system integration and engine program management.


Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement calibration plans for engine and fuel system components.
  • Perform data analysis and validation to ensure compliance with regulatory and performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with design, testing, and software teams to resolve system control and or calibration-related issues.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for calibration anomalies.
  • Document calibration procedures and maintain version control for software releases.
  • Provide technical support during prototype builds and field testing.
  • Integrate systems and support engine program management activities.
  • Conduct customer training sessions and provide technical assistance during implementation.
  • Travel extensively (including international travel to India and China) to assist with customer training and system integration.
  • Maintain dynamometer (Dyno) testing, including mounting and control equipment setup.
  • Maintain company’s test vehicle(s) and customer’s development vehicle(s).


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of experience in engine calibration or related field.


Required Skills


  • Strong understanding of combustion principles, emissions control, and fuel systems.
  • Proficiency in calibration tools (e.g., ETAS INCA, MATLAB/Simulink, Vision).
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and interpret results effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.


Preferred Skills


  • Experience with alternative fuels (CNG, LNG, Hydrogen).
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (EPA, CARB, EU, BSES).
  • Familiarity with CAN/UDS communication protocols and diagnostic tools.
  • Advanced data analytics and scripting (Python, R).
  • Project management experience in automotive, industrial or heavy-duty applications.
  • Ability to identify weaknesses in systems and propose improvements.
  • Forklift certification considered an asset.
