The Fire Protection Expert will provide specialized technical oversight and guidance to ensure alignment of U.S.-based nuclear project fire protection systems and designs with Polish and EU-specific codes, laws, and permitting/licensing requirements. This role will interface closely with local design institutes to drive harmonization efforts and support the overall project derogation strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight and technical interface with Polish design institutes on fire protection system design, including passive and active systems.
  • Interpret and align U.S.-based designs with Polish construction law, EU directives (e.g., 2014/34/EU), and applicable IAEA standards.
  • Support preparation and defense of derogation requests in coordination with regulatory stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical meetings with ANB, ministries, customer stakeholders, and permitting authorities.
  • Prepare documentation inputs for licensing and permitting/derogation packages
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in fire protection design or regulatory oversight.
  • Familiarity with Polish building code, Construction Law, and EU fire safety standards.
  • Prior work on large infrastructure or conventional power plant/industrial projects in Poland.
