Parts Specialist – Peterborough, Ontario, Canada (Onsite)
About the Opportunity
Westinghouse Electric Canada is a leading supplier of custom equipment, process systems and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in Canada. The successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions.
What will you do?
Your day to day:
- Supporting delivery of project manufacturing activities and deliverables to ensure customer commitments are met.
- Detailed planning for manufacturing activities related to project deliveries
- Coordination of tasks related to preparation for manufacturing activities (e.g. ordering of tooling, fixturing, consumables, etc.)
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing operation
- Support the execution of manufacturing activities on customer projects by providing technical input/oversight on planned tasks
- Lead the manufacturing team members through emergent technical challenges, including the assessment and dispositioning of manufacturing non-conformances

Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing techniques, welding procedures or specifications and associated inspection techniques.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, experience working effectively in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Training in Lean manufacturing principles
- Nuclear industry experience, CanDU preferred
This is a challenging position that will require a good background in cross-disciplinary, technical project execution. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are essential to be successful in our team-based environment. You will possess problem solving skills and a creative yet methodical approach.
