E&C Engineer III

Location: Hybrid – Field work near Earth, TX & Remote

Travel Required: Yes (2–3 days/week onsite during construction; 4–5 days/week if on per diem)

Work Hours: Full-time, standard business hours with overtime as needed during construction

Per Diem: Available for non-local candidates meeting site presence requirements

Pay: We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $90-100/hr.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer (E&C Engineer III) to support large-scale renewable energy projects, specifically two major wind facilities near Earth, TX. This role will be instrumental in providing civil engineering expertise throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate engineering drawings, studies, and technical documentation.
  • Manage and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Non-Conformance Requests (NCRs).
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Facility Operations, Siting & Land Rights, Environmental, Supply Chain) and external stakeholders (EPC contractors, local/state agencies, FERC).
  • Support construction teams by resolving civil engineering-related issues on-site.
  • Ensure project compliance with design specifications and company standards.
  • Coordinate with project controls staff on cost and scheduling.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits and ensuring environmental compliance.

Typical Day:

  • Office-based tasks: Reviewing submittals, drawings, and RFIs; coordinating with engineers and stakeholders.
  • Field-based tasks: Providing hands-on support to construction teams, troubleshooting design issues, and ensuring construction aligns with approved plans.

Required Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of civil engineering experience, including 2–3 years in renewable generation projects (wind/solar).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of RFIs, NCRs, and contract scope management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in large, matrixed organizations and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification with intent to obtain PE.
  • Experience with utility companies or design firms in renewable energy.
