About the role:
As a Principal Design Engineer you will perform standard and non-standard reload analysis work for US and international customers, following and understanding approved methodologies, procedures, and internal processes on nuclear safety and quality to produce error free work. Responsibilities include the development and optimization of safe, economic bundle and core designs, development of cycle operation techniques and simulation of transient events for establishing reactor operating limits.
You will report to the Manager - EWR Nuclear Design. This is a hybrid role based in Cranberry, PA. Relocation assistance is available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering design and analyses and propose solutions to complex problems that are not well defined.
- Directly support project management in identifying technical and programmatic requirements. Collect and update project inputs such as scope, schedule, and cost. Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate and integrate complex technical projects that encompass multi-teams; achieve established budget and schedule requirements.
- Work with customers and multi-functional project teams being an expert knowledge resource in both the area of nuclear design and the overarching design and implementation process.
- Develop and deliver presentations to communicate status, problem resolution or promote related business products.
- Mentor, teach, and coach other engineers in technical concepts and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or related Discipline (e.g., Mechanical) preferred or recognized equivalent required. Master's degree helpful
- 7+ years of applicable experience
- Experience working with customers and regulatory personnel.
- Comfortable leading meetings and developing and delivering presentations.
- Experience working in a global and virtual team environment.
- Computer programing skills
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
